Elizabeth Barreto Ortiz (Bayamón,1987)

Illustrator, educator and muralist, she graduated from the School of Fine Arts and Design of Puerto Rico. She is associated with Taller Malaquita, the first collaborative workshop of women artists dedicated to the fine arts and the dissemination of cultural activities. She completed a diploma in digital illustration, new techniques and multimedia applications from the Antigua Academia San Carlos, Department of Arts and Design of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Her work as an illustrator and muralist temporarily based in Mexico City led her to design an altar of the dead commissioned by the Museo de Las Américas, entitled From pain and rage comes resistance and rebellion, dedicated to the victims of femicides in Puerto Rico.
