The tradition of the Three Wise Men is one of the most deeply rooted in Puerto Rico. Inherited from Spanish conquistadors, the devotion to the Three Kings is manifested in religious and cultural celebrations. The carving of wooden saints is one of its main representations, expressed with one particular twist: placing them on horseback instead of camels.
