Kimpande bracelet

Kimpande bracelets are made of bronze and are inspired by the handcuffs of the African Tuareg, Fulani, Maasai, Ashanti and Bantu people.

The manilla was used in West Africa as a form of currency and also as an ornament and symbol of social status. Its origin precedes the colonial era and its use evolves in the Puerto Rican tradition as a tool for protection and identity.
