The indigenous peoples of the Americas

With the reopening of the permanent exhibition "El indígena de América", we created a collection of products inspired by the traits and art that characterize the native peoples of the Americas. This collection draws from the image of the indigenous face created by Puerto Rican artist Domingo García, which was generously donated to the Museum of the Americas before his passing. Additionally, symbols from the Taíno culture, found in the rock art of the indigenous tribes of Puerto Rico, have been incorporated into these products.

What is the significance of the indigenous face created by Domingo García?

The indigenous face created by Domingo García serves as a powerful symbol of the rich cultural heritage of the native peoples of the Americas. It captures the essence of their identity, history and traditions, making it a fitting inspiration for this collection of products.
